My name is Lissa Nichols.
I have been an elementary school teacher for 11 years, with 10 years experience teaching first grade students to read. I LOVE being a first grade teacher. It is an extremely important year for students as they grow so much academically and socially. From age eight, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I never varied from that calling. I love to help kids learn. I love to help parents help their kids learn.
Early on in my career, one of my students inspired me to pursue my masters in reading with a focus as a reading specialist. I graduated from Texas State University in 2012 with a Master of Education with a Major in Reading Education.
I am the Mom of a four year old son who is the light of my life. He is a wildly independent young man and helps me grow in every way possible. (No, he will not be present during tutoring sessions.)
